Control panels

Fire alarm control panels are the central component of a commercial fire alarm system. The panel receives signals from initiating devices such as smoke detectors, heat detectors, and pull stations, and then activates notification appliances including horns, strobes, or voice evacuation systems, based on the programmed response.

Control panels are available in conventional and addressable configurations. Conventional panels group devices into zones and identify alarms by zone. Addressable panels communicate with individual devices on a signaling line circuit and can identify the exact device that triggered the alarm. The correct panel depends on the building layout, system design, and existing infrastructure.

When replacing or expanding a system, compatibility is critical. Panels must match the device protocol, wiring configuration, and series requirements of the existing installation. In many cases, panels are manufacturer-specific and not interchangeable across brands or product lines.
