Modules

Modules are interface devices used in commercial fire alarm systems to connect, monitor, or control external equipment. Common types include addressable modules, relay modules, and monitor modules. These devices expand the capabilities of a fire alarm control panel, enabling it to interact with field wiring and building systems.

Monitor modules are typically used to supervise normally open or normally closed contacts from devices such as waterflow switches, tamper switches, or other initiating equipment. Relay modules are used to control external devices, including door holders, elevator recall, HVAC shutdown, or other auxiliary functions. Addressable modules communicate directly with the control panel via a signaling line circuit and report the status of each device.

Modules must be compatible with the specific fire alarm panel and system series in use. Communication protocol, wiring configuration, and addressing method all vary by manufacturer and product line. Many modules are proprietary and are not interchangeable across brands.

Proper selection depends on system design and project requirements. Listings reflect the exact model and condition available.
