Pull stations

Pull stations, also known as manual fire alarm stations, allow occupants to activate a fire alarm system when smoke or fire is observed. They are typically installed near exits and along required egress paths in commercial buildings.

When operated, a pull station sends a signal to the fire alarm control panel, which then activates horns, strobes, or other notification devices according to the system design. Some systems may also transmit the alarm to a monitoring service.

Pull stations are available in single-action and dual-action configurations. Single-action models activate with one motion. Dual-action models require two steps to reduce accidental activation. Devices are also either addressable or conventional. Addressable stations report the location of a specific device to the panel. Conventional stations report by zone.

Compatibility is critical. Pull stations must match the system type and panel series in use. Always verify model numbers and system requirements before purchasing.
